Please have your child read 20 minutes every day and be sure to get your child a library card if he/she doesn't have one. Most of the recommended books are chapter books at your child's reading level. Keep a record of all books read throughout the summer on the reading log.

All students are required to read the following two books and do a written report on the worksheets provided in the packet. Complete the written assignment for Nate the Great on the Let's Write! worksheet and Frog and Toad Together on the A Special Place worksheet. We will be doing follow-up activities with the books in the fall. Reading is a vital part of your child's education, so please encourage him or her to read daily.
