Mr. O'Connell is the proud father of four children and has been living in Northern Virginia for 16 years, even though he still considers himself a New Englander. He has an avid love of baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox, and still plays and pitches in the DCMBL league. He and his wife Barbara love to spend time outdoors kayaking, biking, and hiking with their children. He also enjoys traveling and has lived in three different states and two different countries.

Mr. O'Connell has a B.A. in History and Political Science from Stonehill College and an M.A. in History from George Mason University. He loves to teach and deeply appreciates the faith and warmth of the St. Ambrose community.
